In 1976, the Scout Traveler was introduced and soon after awarded "Four Wheeler Of the Year" by Four Wheeler Magazine. It quickly became a favorite of four wheelers. The Traveler was an evolution of the Scout that came after IH discontinued its light-truck in 1975.
