Ride Description:
This is my Land Rover Series IIA 1964 2.25L gas engine. It was bought new at René Sempe, Honduras's Land Rover Distributor by Roque Hernández, the original owner. When Mr. Hernandez passed away, the car was parked and garaged for almost 18 years, and it wasn't until 2004 that I bought it from his grandson Carlos Vitanza, a good friend of mine. The car color was originally light green but at that time the paint was almost gone, so I decided to paint it and change the color. I'd say the car is 90% restored. At this moment suspension, brake system, exhaust system, radiator, transmission components, gaskets and seals, electric system, lights, upholstery, doors locks, paint, tires & wheels, had been repaired, changed or adjusted. The car looks brand new, nobody can believe it's a 42 year old car. I even have the original owners manual "in collectable" condition. The engine sounds better than a new one, amazingly I just had to clean the carburetor, change the plugs, breaker points oil, coolant and voalá... it started like a dream, a great Land Rover original engine. Well, this is a very good example of how can you make a car run forever. I'm really proud of it and I enjoy it so much riding it, that I decided to share it with all of you guys. Keep on riding'em, but don't forget to take good care of'em too. Arturo
