Ride Description:
This is a 1988 1.6 Lada Niva that was pimped up to be the official pace car of the inagural Budapest to Bamako rally. We bought the car for less than $1000 in May 2005. By August it completed the demanding Hungarian Baja with some minor injuries only. The back seats have been removed. Wheels have been replaced by Suzuki Samurai wheels. We got two killer seats from a Suzuki Swift, fixed the engine, put up snorkel and desert oil filters and we're ready to go. The back of the car is big enough to hold 2 spare tires and all our gear for the big race from Budapest to Bamako. Watch the car on the dirt roads of West Africa.
