In 1996 the Dodge Rams were available in four models: Regular Cab 2WD / 4WD, and Club Cab 2WD / 4WD. Many trim packages were available, including the LT, Work Special, ST and Laramie SLT. The 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS) was optional, while 2WD models came standard with a 3.9-liter V6, with 5.2- and 5.9-liter V8 engines as options. Four-wheel-drive models had deither the 5.2- or 5.9-liter V8. A 5.2-liter compressed natural gas (CNG) V8 engine was also available in 2WD.
