In 1983 Chevy touted the K5 Blazer as the 'ultimate off-road animal.' Chevy backed it up with an optional 6.2 Liter (379 Cu. In.) V8 Diesel engine. When properly equipped the V8 Diesel could move up to 11,000 lbs. Other available engines included the standard 5.0 Liter (305 Cu. In.) and the optional 5.7 Liter (350 Cu. In.) V8 gas engines.
