By the 70s, the Blazer was outselling both of its rivaled International Harvester Scout and Ford Bronco. The 1971 K5 Blazer was the last year that drum brakes were used on the front and rear. After 1971 the entire GM light truck line got standard front disks, while retaining drums in the rear.
