This is my straight axle 1995 GMC. I bought this truck stock when I when I just turned 20 and now 3 years later it's still a work in progress.
I did the straight axle conversion myself using the stock 14 bolt rear and a built corporate 19 bolt front. Both axles are stuffed with 4.88 gears and the rear has a locker. The truck is setup on all Chevy production lift springs with a shackle flip on front and rear springs giving 23" of lift with the body lift.
I'm running a built Th400 tranny with a np205 transfer case. The traction bars I made myself along with the shock mounts for my 15 explorer Procomp shocks.
The engine is the original but I tore it apart a couple years ago and installed ported
Vortec heads, GMPP Vortec to throttle body intake, all MSD ignition,
K&N, 160 thermostat, roller cam, gear drive, headers and dual 2 1/2 inch
Flowmaster exhaust, jet stage 2 chip, electric fans, throttle body off a 454, and polished valve covers and chrome air cleaner!
The hood is a dual ram air hood I had sent from East Coast Customs, I also installed stainless rocker panels, stainless fender flares, all euro lights with blue headlights, diamond plate bedcaps, and the hardest to install was the billet grill.
The interior is mostly stock with kicker speakers to replace the stock ones.
Last but not least is the rubber. I'm running 44-19.5-15 TSL Boggers wrapped around 15x12 Weld Scorpio wheels. The truck was completely built by me and I'm hoping to have it published in the 4x4 magazines soon!!!
