Ride Description
These pictures of my and my wife's 1977 Scout Traveler were taken at Browns Camp in the Tillamook National Forest.
With the spring-over and add-a-leafs, its lifted about 8 to 9 inches, I built the spring-over and its steering modifications myself with help from my dad and friends.
Its running 36" Buckshot's on Dana 44's with 4.27:1 gears and a locked up front end, I've recently twisted the front knuckles myself, also with some help from my dad and friends.
I built the bumper myself to mount the 8,000# Warn winch.
I will be replacing the motor and transfer case in the next year hopefully, it is powered by a tired and worn 345 IH motor that still works really well despite its age, its rattles, and its high rate of oil consumption, it was given to me by a friend.
The transmission is the stock 727 tourqe-flight that has been recently rebuilt with a heavy duty torque converter and shift kit, it is backed by the stock transfer case which has been rattling for years.
I also hope to get a cage built this year so that future pictures will show the truck topless.
My wife has done most of the mechanical work on our Scout with me.
