Environment - Toyota 4Runner

Toyota's engineers paid special attention to the 4Runner's ergonomics. You'll find everything you need is located exactly where logic would dictate it should go and where your hand would fall naturally. The heating and cooling system controls are beautifully logical and easy to operate. Automatic climate control is, of course, standard on both 4Runner models

The marketing people know North Americans can't go anywhere with a tub of something to drink, so the 4Runner has cup holders everywhere.

The seats are superb. Front seats are multi-adjustable so there's no excuse for anyone driving around peering through the steering wheel. Rear seats are theatre-style, which means adult passengers back there can actually see out the windshield over the heads of the front seat occupants.

The rear seats fold easily to create a huge cargo space. When they're not folded, a shelf which can hold up to 65 lbs (30kg) is available.

Toyota paid careful attention to noise suppression. At 70 mph (120 kph), road and wind noise levels are luxury car-like. You'll find this especially important if you bought the Limited model, which comes with the monster JBL sound system. But even the AM/FM/CD sound system that comes in the base SR5 model will satisfy all but the most committed audiophile. For keeping those easily-bored rear seat passengers occupied, a DVD-based entertainment system is available.
