Definition: To lower the air pressure in the tires to improve traction off-road.
Also Known As: Airing Down Tires
Examples: Airing down your tires can provide much greater traction in many off road conditions. However, once you are back on the road, aired down tires can be loud, wear unevenly and be very dangerous. The risk of a tire coming off of its bead increases with speed and with less internal pressure, the risk multiplies greatly.
