Recently, RETRAX announced the Generation III Rigid Retractable Truck Bed Cover. While not available for long beds or most compact 4 door models, the Generation III design is unique because it is flat from front to back, which allows water to flow off quickly without obstruction, resulting in a drier truck bed. This patent pending design is engineered tough and streamlines the overall appearance of the bed cover, making it one of the most attractive truck bed covers on the market. The RETRAX Truck Bed Cover provides security and convenient cargo protection.
RETRAX is manufactured from polycarbonate, a virtually indestructible thermoplastic, commonly known as LEXAN ®. RETRAX engineers applied the same Polymer technology used in fighter-jet windshields and designed a bed cover that withstands the most rugged use. This rigid one-piece sheet retracts into a unique spiral track storage canister, that is engineered to retract without joints or hinges which can trap dust, wear out or freeze. Polycarbonate has excellent impact resistance and is unaffected by sun, moisture or temperatures form -50º to +200º. Tempered aluminum I-beams imbedded into the polycarbonate sheet add strength to support heavy snow loads and insure quiet, stable travel at any speed. RETRAX has a gloss black finish that adds a new dimension of beauty to your pickup. The cover also utilizes a flush-mounted locking system that can be key-locked in any position along the bed rail, which allows for unlimited hauling flexibility and convenient use with a fifth wheel trailer. The rigid design of the RETRAX also improves the aerodynamics of pickup trucks for an increase of approximately 10% in gas mileage.
