In 1996 Acura was the first import luxury brand to offer an SUV -- the SLX -- which was actually an Isuzu Trooper. Acura discontinued the SLX after the 1999 model year and introduced the MDX in 2001.

MDX
It was designed to perform precisely and with agility even when driven assertively. One of its other missions is to defeat Winter, which meant designing one of the most advanced 4-wheel drive systems on the market to give MDX exceptional traction on wet or snowy pavement.
