One of the 3 key elements needed in an internal combustion engine is spark. It's always a good idea to check your spark plug(s) and oil levels before any and every trip. If you've gone more than a full season, chances are your bike could do with a few fresh quarts of oil and a new spark plug or two.
Make sure your quad's spark plugs are working right before you go out and you'll be less likely to be pushing it back. If you haven't done much work on them before you might want to read up a little about spark plug maintenance tips for your ATV.
