How to Clean A Carburetor

I was getting the toys ready this weekend for a New Years desert trip and noticed a lacquer smell while checking the gas on the generator. Then I realized I hadn't started it in over a year and now it's got bad gas in it.
This generator has been awesome for the last decade or so. It usually starts on my "warm-up" pull, so I was bummed about the carb being gummed up with bad gas.
As luck would have it today is a "floating holiday" at my day job so I'm home with the boys so it's a great time to help you learn how to clean a carburetor.
The whole thing took less than a couple hours, but I didn't work on it straight through. I took lots of pictures along the way to show you how easy it was.
Once I put everything back together I did my normal (and slow) warm up pull a few times to get the fuel and oil flowing. On the third pull it started right up.
Life is good and that's one less problem I have to worry about while at the desert.

Where is the rest of the story? This doesn’t tell how to actually clean the carburetor. And you talk about photos, but where are they? Your title should have been “I cleaned my carburetor.”
Brad,
Sorry for the confusion… there’s a link in the 3rd paragraph that points to the actual step by step, with pictures. I’ll update the blog post later to be more clear.
Matt
Ah ok I see that now. I usually ignore links in the text. I was looking for the “next page” link.
Brad,
That’s an excellent point. Thanks for bringing it up.
I’m sure there are many others like you that do that. I will keep that in mind in the future and make it more obvious where the articles are.
