Have you ever wondered where Yamaha OHVs came from? And I'm not talking about Yamaha's new manufacturing facility in Newnan, Ga where Yamaha has begun building their popular Grizzly quads, I'm talking about the actual history of Yamaha Motor Company.
For example, did you know that Torakusu Yamaha, the original founder of what is now Yamaha Motor Company, started out repairing medical equipment in Nagasaki, Japan in 1884? A few years later he fixed a reed organ and was convinced that he could make a better one, so he did, and began Yamaha Organ Works in 1889.
Over the years Yamaha diversified into other commodities besides musical instruments. They had their fingers in completely un-related things like archery, metallurgy and eventually modern day motorcycles, ATVs and Side by Sides, among other things.
