Arizona has long been a haven for OHVers to ride in vast, open deserts. It's a great way for people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's also a great way for families to get out and spend time together.
Lately things have changed and it's not the same family friendly place it used to be. Several Federally controlled areas in Arizona have been closed (or warned of impending danger) in the last year or so because of the problem with human and drug trafficking along the southern border.
The areas being closed by the fed include Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and the Ironwood Forest National Monument in the Sonoran Desert.
Warnings were posted on signs at Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge and the Coronado National Forest, which covers nearly 1.8 million acres in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.
So be careful if you are planning on going to Arizona to do some recreating.
