As another great summer comes to a close, it's a good time to review a few of the basic ATV and offroading safety tips that can go a long way in helping you have a fun, safe ATV ride.
First of all, if you're riding with children, make sure they're riding the right size of ATV for their age, size and ability. The kids should also be wearing all the right ATV safety equipment, like a helmet, goggles, gloves, boots and long sleeved shirts and pants. It's also a good idea to get them (and yourself) some kind of training like at the All Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute
Here's a quick check-list of safety concerns for ATVs
- Wear safety gear
- Ride the right sized ATV
- Don't ride on roads, streets and highways
- Don't ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Don't carry passengers
- Supervise younger riders
Have a fun, safe Labor Day weekend if you're out riding!
